The Scottish single hand sword is patterned after 15th. century models originating in the West Highlands and the Isles. The wheel pommel, lobed quillions and short langet extending from the quillion block are typical of this forerunner of the Claymore. The hilt has a Macassar ebony grip with solid brass fittings. 2 lbs., 15 oz.

The Basket-hilt Backswords have their origins in the Scottish swordmaking town of Stirling, famous for the Allen family of swordmakers. This Backsword has a distinctive barred basket, with designs showing its Celtic ancestry. The blade of the original is late 17th century Solingen pattern. Replicated from a museum piece, this sword will please the collector and re-enactor. Authentic styling -High-carbon steel blade -Scabbard included. 4lb 9oz
