| | This finely decorated stoneware Drinking Horn, details the legend of Irish Myth-hero; CuChulainn. Intricate Celtic symbol & knotwork bring the story of this fierce warrior to life. The 12 Century Book of Dun Cow records the exploits of a young child (Setanta) that killed the fierce watchdog of 'Cullen the Smith' with his bare hands. Offering himself as replacement for the slain creature, he was christened by the chieftain as 'CuChulainn; Hound of the Cullan'. A ferocious warrior; it is said that while mortally wounded, he lashed himself to a pillar to continue the battle to death. Only after a crow settled upon him, did his enemies dare approach!
