Based on a design found in Oslo Norway dating to 834 ad. The banks of the Norway's Oslo Fjord were used by the Vikings for burials. The richest such burial in Scandinavia is in Oseberg. It was excavated by Gabriel Gustafson in 1904.The ship was built almost entirely of oak, and measuring 70.5 feet long, 17 feet broad, and 4.9 feet deep. The grave chamber timbers have been dated to 834 AD. The design of this clasp is based on the bed posts of a bed found in the grave 5 1/2" x 1 1/4"	The design is based on a Viking belt tip found in Sutton Hoo, England. The design dates to about 600 A.D. It has four point for attaching and a double hook and eye closure. Cast in lead free pewter. Clasp measures 4 3/8" x 1¾" high.

Our double-headed griffin is cast in Lead Free pewter. 2.25" high and just over 3" wide. Featuring four points of attachment on each side and a double hook and eye closure.The perfect finishing touch for any cloak.	The Gryphon is the symbol of Valor and death defying bravery. It is in the heraldic position Sejant or sitting position. Cast from Lead Free Pewter 2 inch by 2 inch Hung on a 36", 2.5mm black cotton cord.
